The Ultimate List: The Best Poshmark Bots of 2020

Best Poshmark Bots of 2020: The Ultimate Guide Article by Michelle of superposher.com

Edited by JoAnna Johnson

What is a Poshmark bot?

A Poshmark bot is an extremely powerful tool. It automates tasks that are too time-consuming, repetitive, and annoying for Poshmark sellers to do themselves. By performing actions related to selling items on Poshmark, a Poshmark bot frees up valuable time for top sellers to source inventory, create listings, or invest time into other important areas of life.

There are many different kinds of Poshmark bots available. The features and the setup required for each one vary widely – some can be set up in 1 minute, while others have instruction manuals with thousands of words. Some are free to try, while others require paid subscriptions.

The kind of software required to run a Poshmark bot also varies widely. Many Poshmark bots are browser extensions, which means that they can only be used when the seller has their laptop on, has the Poshmark website open in a browser tab, and is not performing any other actions in that browser tab.  Others require installing the Poshmark bot software directly onto the seller's computer. The best Poshmark bots have no software requirements and are usable by any seller with a device that has Internet access.

When deciding which bot to purchase, a seller should carefully weigh important factors such as the available features, pricing, and customer support. We elaborate on this topic in detail in the section What to look for in a Poshmark bot.

After considering those options, a seller must determine which Poshmark bot fits their business needs. We summarize strengths and weaknesses of each bot in Reviewing the most popular Poshmark bots of 2020.

Why do people use Poshmark bots?

If you’re serious about your Poshmark business, then Poshmark bots are incredibly powerful tools that you can use to save time, increase buyer engagement, and make your sales skyrocket. Poshmark bots help sellers by:

  1. Saving time. As a business owner on Poshmark, time is money. Each second of your time is valuable. Do you want to waste it doing annoying tasks like clicking the share button hundreds of times, every day? Or would you rather be finding new inventory for your closet, having meaningful interactions with other Poshmark users, or investing in other important areas of your life?
  2. Increasing buyer engagement. Poshmark is set up similarly to a social media platform. The more actions you perform – shares, follows, comments, likes – the more engagement you get with your closet, and the more sales you make. In particular, shares grow your business tremendously, and follows help sellers reach valuable audiences. The more activity your bot contributes, the more active your account is on Poshmark, and the more interactions you’ll get with both current and potential buyers.
  3. Growing sales. The best Poshmark bots increase your opportunities to close a deal. How? They have smart algorithms for knowing when to send offers, share listings depending on the time of day, mimicking human behavior to avoid share jail, and more. All of these are normally problems that would require your time and energy to figure out. Now, they’re taken care of automatically.

We’ve seen the benefits of automation in fields from the financial sector to farming. Technology helps humanity by performing the repetitive, mind-numbing tasks that we would otherwise have to do – which frees us to invest more time in more important things. Selling on Poshmark is no exception.

What to look for in a Poshmark bot

There are a lot of Poshmark bots out there. However, not all of them will help you sell better on Poshmark. Unfortunately, many bot companies only care about getting your money in the beginning, rather than providing a good quality product. Here are the things you should look for when deciding which bot suits you best.

  1. Solving CAPTCHAs. Being able to solve CAPTCHAs is crucial. When executing a significant number of tasks on Poshmark, you’ll inevitably run into CAPTCHAs. (This happens even if you're not using a bot!) If your Poshmark bot ignores them and keeps chugging along, then Poshmark will flag your account and put you in share jail for a couple hours, which prevents you from making sales. In the worst case, your account could be banned permanently. Other Poshmark bots do solve CAPTCHAs, but require you to pay extra for 3rd-party software. Why should you have to spend extra time and money for something that should be a baseline feature?
  2. Mobile-app compatibility. Many Poshmark sellers use the mobile app to run their Poshmark business. However, many Poshmark bots only work with the Poshmark website. If you’re used to selling via the app, you’d have to change your entire workflow. A Poshmark bot shouldn’t disrupt your productivity. It should increase it.
  3. Smart algorithms. Many Poshmark bots are completely user-driven, in a bad way. Because they don’t have any algorithms for figuring out the optimal way to share or perform other actions, they require you to configure a frustrating number of settings before you can get started. You’re paying money – why should you have to figure out how the bot should do its job? Get a bot that’s smart enough to mimic human behavior by default, so that you can enjoy more free time and the bot's activity will never be flagged by Poshmark.
  4. Performing different tasks at the same time. Imagine a scenario where you want to share your closet in the background and send offers at the same time. Some bots don’t allow you to do this. You have to start sharing, wait until it’s done, and then send offers. Poshmark bots are supposed to save you time. Using a bot that requires constant baby-sitting defeats the purpose.
  5. Good customer service. When you have questions about your business or issues with the product, it’s crucial to have a customer support team that’s responsive and helpful. The best bots provide multiple methods of contact, such as email, texting, and Facebook messenger.
  6. Bonus: Data analytics. Metrics are crucial for seeing how much impact a Poshmark bot is having on your business. The best Poshmark bots provide data and analytics on how much work they’ve accomplished. And if they don’t...how do you know whether they’re really doing work, or just scamming you out of your money?

What is the best Poshmark bot in 2020?

With those criteria in mind, we rounded up all the Poshmark bots that are currently on the market and stack ranked them all. There were two main considerations, represented by the x- and y-axis in the diagram below:

The y-axis represents Value Gained. In other words, how much value does each Poshmark bot actually provide Poshmark sellers? We approximated this using the following equation:

Value Gained = Time Saved / Price

There were various factors that went into determining Time Saved, such as how many tasks the bot could perform on behalf of a Poshmark seller, how valuable each task was for increasing sales, and how many CAPTCHAs could be solved automatically.

The x-axis represents Time Spent. In other words, how much time does it take to set up and run each Poshmark bot every day? Some bots can be set up in 1 minute, while others require hours. Some bots can run entirely on their own, and others require the Poshmark seller to spend extensive amounts of time configuring settings, scrolling through their closet, and solving CAPTCHAs.

The sweet spot is where the seller doesn't have to spend much time getting the bot to work, also receives immense business value from the bot's activity.

Zooming in on the sweet spot, we see that four Poshmark bots fit the bill. From these four, we picked two favorites. We picked these two bots because they had unique strengths that set them apart from the crowd.

Without further ado, the best Poshmark bots of 2020 are...SimplePosher and SuperPosher!

The Most Budget-Friendly Poshmark Bot of 2020: SimplePosher

With 6000+ users on the Chrome Extension Store and a monthly subscription of only $9.99/month, it's no wonder that SimplePosher has the most users out of any bot on our list.

What sets SimplePosher apart is that it doesn't compromise on affordability or quality of product. There are other Poshmark bots that also offer subscriptions at $9.99/month, but they fall short in quality, providing a sub-par experience for customers.

Not SimplePosher. SimplePosher provides users a full feature list that includes sharing listings from any closet, party, or feed page; alerting the user when CAPTCHAs appear; and reciprocating shares and follows from other Poshmark users. These features are immensely valuable for all Poshmark sellers, but especially those with small to medium-sized closets who may not be able to justify using a pricier bot.

To see more, check out our in-depth summary of SimplePosher's feature list, software requirements, pricing, and customer support.

The Most Innovative Poshmark Bot of 2020: SuperPosher

SuperPosher sets itself apart from the crowd by offering several innovative features that other bots don't offer.

  • No install required. SuperPosher works like Facebook or Twitter: you sign up, log in, and view your dashboard all on the SuperPosher website. This means that SuperPosher is fully compatible with any device that can use the Internet.
  • SuperPosher keeps working, even when all your devices are off. SuperPosher does not require the user to open the Poshmark website. In fact, the user doesn't even need to turn on their computer or mobile device.
  • Automatic CAPTCHA solving. SuperPosher automatically solves CAPTCHAs when they appear. No extra fees or extra software required.
  • Automatic Offer-to-Likers. SuperPosher sends offers to likers for listings that have likes. This helps you increase sales by automatically engaging with Poshmark users that are extremely likely to buy.
  • 28,000 shares every week. Even without any configuration required from users, SuperPosher gets an incredible amount of work done each week.

These features save Poshmark sellers an immense amount of time. With other Poshmark bots, users are required to spend time painstakingly filling out settings, scrolling through closet pages, and solving CAPTCHAs. Poshmark sellers that use SuperPosher can re-invest that time back into their business, outclassing their competitors.

To see more, check out our in-depth summary of SuperPosher's feature list, software requirements, pricing, and customer support.

Are bots allowed on Poshmark?

No guide to Poshmark bots would be complete without a discussion on whether bots are allowed on Poshmark. Poshmark bots allow sellers to increase sales and grow their business, but sellers must choose to use them ethically and responsibly.

First, let's take a look at the Poshmark community guidelines.

Do not use programs or other forms of automation to participate on Poshmark. This includes, but is not limited to liking, sharing, following, and unfollowing.

Why do they say this? As a company that cares about its users, Poshmark intends to maintain a healthy platform where all sellers have an equal shot at growing their business. That's why recently shared listings appear as top search results, regardless of how large the seller's closet is or how many followers they have. Even the smallest closets have a chance at getting their listings seen by potential buyers.

But if automation is misused, then many small businesses will get swallowed by the enormous number of shares, follows, offers, likes, and comments that bots can generate. A human working their hardest might share around 4,000 times per day – but a bot could share over 80,000 times per day if it just did 1 share per second.

That's what Poshmark doesn't want. We don't want that, either. It's important to empower everyone, regardless of how big their closet is or how many assistants they have, to be able to grow their Poshmark business.

Now, let's look at a much more innocuous example. Let's say a mother just starts selling on Poshmark and wants to grow her business. She recruits her daughter to help share her closet so that she has more time to source inventory, write love notes to buyers, and mail items.

Is that wrong? We don't think so – it's great that the mom and daughter duo are working on a goal together that enriches both of their lives.

This examples illustrates a crucial fact. The issue with Poshmark bots isn't that someone else is performing actions on behalf of a seller. The issue is that they can potentially be misused to give someone an unfair advantage, such as sharing so many times that it's impossible for a human to keep up.

We believe that Poshmark bots can be used ethically when they respect the limits of what other human sellers are capable of. At SuperPosher, they restrict shares to 4,000 per day. Other Poshmark bots like Closet Tools allow the user to determine the exact amount, but recommend a similar target number.

Poshmark also incentivizes sellers to stay within those limits by sending CAPTCHAs and putting over-active accounts in share jail. Furthermore, Poshmark reserves the right to suspend or ban account access for users that it deems extremely suspicious. That's why it's so important to choose a Poshmark bot that mimics human behavior, doesn't surpass a believable number of shares, and pauses at or solves all CAPTCHAs.

In the end, Poshmark is a platform that thrives on the interactions between its users. And automation is a powerful tool that can facilitate those interactions and save Poshmark sellers countless amounts of time. It's up to us to use that power responsibly.
